Engineers use ECU/bus interface hardware and measurement modules provided by INCA and ETAS to calibrate, validate, and diagnose onboard electronic systems and obtain reliable data from these systems and automotive peripherals.
INCA provides connections for all related bus systems. It can calibrate and diagnose multiple ECUs while monitoring bus communication and collecting measurement signals. INCA supports all standard ECU description formats, as well as measurement, calibration, and diagnostic protocols.
Two sides of the same coin
The requirements of laws and regulations (such as OBD and EOBD regulations) for on-board monitoring of emission related systems have driven the demand for complex ECU on-board diagnostics. At the same time, accurately and effectively identifying faulty components in the maintenance workshop is also very important.
ODX
ODX (Open Diagnostic Data Exchange Format) declares on-board diagnostic functions and protocols in a standardized manner. The data description format of XML enables vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers to maintain all data related to the vehicle lifecycle (such as development, production, and service data) in a unified manner. ODX is a standard defined by the ASAM organization and published as the ISO 22901-1 international standard. More and more vehicle manufacturers and suppliers' diagnostic development toolchains have supported ODX.
Using INCA for ECU diagnosis and flash programming
Comprehensive vehicle diagnosis requires close collaboration between ECU development and diagnostic service development. When the off vehicle diagnostic function and ECU software are developed in parallel, they can be tested in the early stages of development
