Verify the current threshold parameter
Check if the parameter P640 (current limit) is set reasonably, with a default value of 1.5 × P305 (motor rated current). If the actual current exceeds this value abnormally, it is necessary to investigate the load or adjust the parameters.
Verify the matching of motor parameters
Confirm that the motor model, power, and encoder type in the driver parameters are consistent with the actual hardware to avoid false alarms caused by parameter mismatches.
Update firmware version
Check if the firmware of the drive is the latest version, as some older software versions may have compatibility issues.
2、 Hardware troubleshooting and testing
Check the motor cables and connections
Check whether there is a short circuit, open circuit or poor contact in the motor power line and encoder line, with a focus on inspecting the cable joints and terminal status inside the junction box.
Check if the cable shielding layer is intact to avoid intermittent short circuits caused by copper wire piercing the insulation layer.
Measure power stability
Use a multimeter to check the input voltage of the driver to ensure it is within the rated range (e.g. 380V ± 10%).
Check for abnormal fluctuations in the DC bus voltage, as overvoltage or undervoltage may trigger protection.
Load and mechanical condition inspection
Manually rotate the motor shaft to confirm if there is any jamming, overload, or abnormal mechanical resistance.
Check whether mechanical components such as bearings and couplings are worn and causing additional loads.
3、 Internal component inspection
Control board status check
Observe whether there are bulges or burn marks on the capacitors and chips of the control board, and replace the control board if necessary.
Measure the on resistance of IGBT module to eliminate the risk of breakdown or short circuit.
Cooling system inspection
Check if the cooling fan is running properly, clean the dust in the air duct, and avoid triggering protection due to overheating.
4、 Interference protection measures
Optimize wiring layout
Ensure that the power line and signal line are routed separately, with a minimum interval of 30cm, to avoid parallel arrangement.
Grounding treatment
Check if the shielding layer of the driver, motor, and encoder is single point grounded to prevent interference from the ground loop.
5、 Other measures
Replace spare cable test: If the fault occurs intermittently, priority should be given to replacing known normal cables for verification.
Professional maintenance support: If self inspection fails, it is necessary to contact professional personnel to check the internal circuit of the driver or replace the damaged module
