Basic investigation process
Hardware connection check
After power failure, unplug and plug in the motor encoder plug again, clean the oxidized or contaminated pins, and ensure reliable contact;
Use a multimeter to measure the continuity of the encoder cable, with a focus on checking the integrity of the A/B/Z phase and shielding layer (if the resistance is abnormal, the cable needs to be replaced);
Check if the connection between the motor shaft and the encoder is loose, manually rotate the motor shaft to observe if the encoder feedback is continuous.
Signal quality verification
Use an oscilloscope to detect the waveform of the encoder A/B phase pulse signal, which should normally be a square wave with a phase difference of 90 ° and without distortion or burrs;
Compare the stability of signal amplitude between no-load and loaded operation. If the waveform distortion is caused by sudden load changes, mechanical jamming or overload should be investigated.
Power supply and environmental monitoring
Measure the power supply voltage of the encoder (typical value 5V/24V), and if the fluctuation range exceeds ± 5%, check the power module or filter capacitor;
Check if the installation position of the encoder is corroded by coolant or if the vibration exceeds the standard (recommended vibration frequency ≤ 100Hz).
