Rapid precision casting Gearbox: Due to the inherent characteristics of laser sintering technology, it is commonly used in the field of mechanical manufacturing to manufacture single piece and small batch metal parts. Some special and complex components only require small batches of one or fewer than a few dozen pieces, and such products have high production costs and long production cycles through molds. This technology can generally be used for direct molding.
If a certain enterprise needs to trial produce the gearbox shown in Figure 2, a total of 18 pieces will be completed in two batches. The first 7 pieces are used for structural verification and bench testing, while the last 11 pieces are used for road testing. Using traditional manufacturing methods, it takes 4 months from mold to production. We used a rapid casting solution to complete the wax mold for lost wax casting in just 2 days, and produced 18 qualified casting blanks in 1 month.

Rapid precision casting [Case 2]Rapid manufacturing of manifolds: By using rapid prototyping methods, a set of CAD data for different surfaces can be provided at once, and a set of intake pipe parts can be obtained through rapid casting. After testing, a comprehensive set of data can be obtained to screen out the * airway scheme, which can greatly accelerate the development speed. As shown in Figure 3, it is an aluminum alloy intake pipe casting manufactured by rapid precision casting method. From receiving the 3D CAD data of the parts to completing the blank, it only takes 18 days, including 1 day for rapid prototyping of the parts, 15 days for investment casting, and 2 days for other post-processing and inspection. Longyuan Company once produced 35 pieces in one batch, providing customers with bench calibration tests and road tests.

Rapid precision casting Trial production of engine cylinder block: The combination of selective laser sintering and casting technology can be effectively applied to the rapid manufacturing of A-sample in the engine design and development stage, improving product development speed, reducing development costs, and promoting the early entry of products into the market. A certain company requires 3 new engines for ignition testing and parameter calibration, using a rapid casting solution. Longyuan Company promptly provided the cylinder block and cylinder head to ensure the smooth progress of the trial production. Figure 4 shows the cylinder block investment mold of a V8 engine, which uses selective laser sintering technology to directly produce wax molds without the need for mold making. Its molding time is 42 hours and the casting cycle is 20 days. If traditional manufacturing methods are used to make molds, it will take at least 6 months and cost millions of dollars. This technology saves customers a lot of time and development costs.
