HCHV-10000 pulse generatorCapable of generating fast high-voltage waveforms up to 10000V. This device is optimized for high impedance capacitive loads and is suitable for driving extraction gates and deflection plates to achieve electrostatic modulation of particle beams in time-of-flight mass spectrometers and accelerators. Its sturdy and multifunctional design also makes it suitable for use in pulse or gated power transistor gates, Pockels boxes and Q-switches, acoustic transducers, microchannel plates, photomultiplier tubes, and image intensifiers. HCHV-10000 pulse fidelity will optimize the performance of any system using this device.

HCHV-10000 can generate output voltage pulses of 10000 V with rise and fall times of less than 60 ns, and can produce flat voltage pulses to DC under capacitive loads. It can generate single ended output pulses from ground to+10000V or from ground to -10000V, and can also generate DC voltage pulses offset from ground by using V-low and V-high power inputs. The offset range can be from -10000V to+10000V, with a maximum power supply voltage difference of ≤ 10000V.

HCHV-10000 requires user provided TTL gate signal, high-voltage DC power supply, and optional DC offset power supply input. The output pulse width and frequency are controlled by gate signals. The output pulse voltage is controlled by the amplitude of the input DC power supply.

When the device is enabled and the input gate is high, the V high power supply is connected to the output. When the input gate is at a low level, the V low power supply is connected to the output. Therefore, HCHV-10000 can generate negative pulses by inverting the input gate through logic, keeping the input gate high before the device pulse. When the input gate becomes low, the V-high input power supply is connected to the output, generating a negative pulse.

The HCHV-10000 has a front panel indicator LED for monitoring the status of the pulse generator. The instrument level voltage and current monitor on the front panel provides a direct way to view the output voltage and current waveforms in real-time, without the need for an external high-voltage oscilloscope probe.
