Product Introduction of Metool Noise Sensor KS03-U02
The structural noise sensor can be fixed by clamping the housing or using the M27x1.5 thread on the housing (accompanied by an M27x1.5 locking nut).
Please note that the oil drain hole installed at the rear must not be blocked (see installation instructions to ensure oil protection).
At the front end of the housing, the M27x1.5 thread used to install the calibrator accessory (CAL31 handheld device) should maintain a space of 10 millimeters. The calibrator accessory can be screwed onto the thread when installed.
Attention: Due to the working position, the KS03-KS08 structural acoustic sensor will apply a weight of 1.0-1.5 kg to the measured object, so the calibrator used must also be able to move at least this mass!
Therefore, MeTool CAL31 should be used for calibration.

3. Introduction to noise sensors
A noise sensor (also known as a sound sensor or decibel sensor) is a detection device specifically designed to collect sound signals in the environment, convert sound pressure signals into electrical signals, and ultimately output readable noise values (with a core indicator of decibels dB). Its core function is to monitor and quantify environmental noise in real time, and it is widely used in industrial, livelihood, security and other scenarios, with strong practicality.
The function of a sound sensor is equivalent to a microphone. It is used to receive sound waves and display vibration images of sound. But it cannot measure the intensity of noise.
The noise sensor is precisely due to the built-in sound sensitive capacitive electret microphone. The electret surface is opposite to the back electrode, with a very small air gap in the middle, forming a flat capacitor with the air gap and the electret as insulating media, and the back electrode and the metal layer on the electret as two electrodes. There is an output electrode between the two poles of the capacitor. Due to the distribution of free charges on the polarizer film. When sound waves cause vibration of the polarizer film and result in displacement; By changing the distance between the two poles of the capacitor, the capacitance of the capacitor changes. As the number of charges on the polarizer remains constant, according to the formula: Q=CU, when C changes, it will inevitably cause a change in the voltage U across the capacitor, thereby outputting an electrical signal and achieving the conversion of acoustic signals to electrical signals. Specifically, the total charge of the polarizer remains constant. When the electrode plate retreats under acoustic pressure, the capacitance decreases and the voltage between the two poles of the capacitor increases inversely. Conversely, when the capacitance increases, the voltage between the two poles of the capacitor decreases inversely. Finally, the voltage across the capacitor is extracted through a very high impedance field effect and amplified to obtain the voltage corresponding to the sound. Due to the active nature of field-effect transistors, they require a certain bias and current to operate in an amplifying state. Therefore, an additional DC bias is required for an electret microphone to function.
