Installation and usage method of BALLUFF proximity switch

This type of switch is sometimes called an inductive proximity switch. It uses conductive objects to generate eddy currents inside the object when approaching the proximity switch that can generate an electromagnetic field. This eddy current reacts with the proximity switch, causing changes in the internal circuit parameters of the switch, thereby identifying the presence or absence of conductive objects moving closer and controlling the on or off of the switch. The object that this proximity switch can detect must be a conductive material.

Baruff inductive proximity switches can improve system availability while reducing maintenance and storage costs.

For this purpose, Baruff provides you with inductive sensors that can cover almost all application areas and come in a variety of styles: from standard sensors to sensors with larger sensing distances, sanitary sensors, high-voltage resistant sensors, explosion-proof sensors, Factor 1 (sensors with an attenuation coefficient of 1), which are all metal sensors. In addition, these sensors have ceramic or PTFE coatings to ensure that welding spatter cannot adhere. You can also find Factor 1's all metal sensors in our product catalog. It's unimaginable to achieve automation without using inductive sensors. To achieve automation anytime and anywhere, non-contact position detection of metal objects is required, which requires high wear resistance and reliability. This is true for industries such as mechanical manufacturing, electronics, automobiles, food, and plastics.

A proximity switch, also known as a contactless proximity switch, is an ideal electronic switch sensor. When the metal detector approaches the sensing area of the switch, the switch can be contactless, pressure free, spark free, and emit electrical commands, accurately reflecting the position and stroke of the moving mechanism. Even for general stroke control, its positioning accuracy, operating frequency, service life, ease of installation and adjustment, and adaptability to harsh environments cannot be compared to general mechanical stroke switches. Widely used in the machine tool, metallurgy, chemical, textile, and printing industries. In automatic control systems, it can be used as a limiting, counting, positioning control, and automatic protection link.

The application areas include monitoring the movement of joining, stamping, or clamping devices in mechanical manufacturing, or detecting the imbalance and extension of axes. Inductive distance sensors can provide absolute analog voltage, current, or IO Link signals.

The technology we adopt within our scope is cost-effective, and even with large-scale production, we can deliver within a short period of time.

Our inductive ring sensors and tube sensors work extremely reliably and can detect small components at object speeds of up to 20 meters per second. Due to the integrated pulse extension function of up to 150 milliseconds, the control system can reliably use switch signals. As a user, you can also benefit from simple installation. Because circular sensors and tubular sensors can be installed interchangeably, arranged in rows with a stacking distance greater than 20 mm.
