1、 Introduction to Cosmetics
The cosmetics industry is an emerging fine chemical industry with an annual output value of over 100 billion US dollars, occupying an important position in the fine chemical industry. Cosmetics are daily chemical industrial products that are spread on any part of the human body surface by wiping, spraying, or other similar methods for the purpose of cleaning, eliminating unpleasant odors, skincare, beauty, and decoration.
2、 Emulsifier
The main functions of emulsifiers in cosmetics are emulsification, solubilization, and washing. The main ingredients of emulsifiers in cleaning, washing, and skincare cosmetics are anionic surfactants or used in combination with nonionic surfactants. Use cationic or amphoteric surfactants to regulate the product. Determine the type of emulsion during the emulsification process, whether it is oil in water or water in oil.
3、 Emulsification process for cosmetics
① Oil phase
Add oil, grease, candles, emulsifiers, and other oil soluble ingredients into a jacketed dissolution pot, turn on steam heating, and heat it to 70-75 ℃ under continuous emulsification and stirring in the emulsifier to fully dissolve and homogenize it for later use. Avoid excessive heating and prolonged heating to prevent oxidation and deterioration of the raw materials.
② Water phase
First, add deionized water to the heating and dissolving pot, with water-soluble components such as glycerol. Propylene glycol. Wait for the moisturizing agent to have no water-soluble emulsifier added, stir and add at only 90-100 ℃, maintain sterilization for 20 minutes, and then set aside at 70-80 ℃ in the cold zone.
③ Emulsification and cooling
The above-mentioned oil and water phases are added to an emulsifying pot in a certain order through a filter, and stirred at a certain temperature for a certain period of time. During the emulsification process, the method of adding the oil and water phases, the speed of addition, the stirring conditions, the emulsification temperature and time, and the structure of the emulsifier have a significant impact on the shape and distribution of the emulsified particles
4、 Mixing conditions and mixing speed
In general, a higher stirring speed should be adopted in the early stage of emulsification. When entering the cooling stage after emulsification, medium or slow stirring should be used. In the preparation of O/W emulsions, a good method is to add the water phase to the oil phase under intense and continuous stirring, and high-temperature mixing is better than low-temperature mixing; When preparing W/O emulsion, slowly add the water phase to the oil phase while stirring continuously, and the emulsification temperature should be slightly lower
5、 Adjustment of viscosity
For O/W emulsions, synthetic or natural gum and appropriate emulsifiers such as potassium soap and sodium soap can be added to adjust viscosity; For W/P emulsions, adding multivalent metal soap, high melting point wax, and resin to the oil phase can increase the viscosity of the system

By utilizing the high-speed rotation of a special rotor to generate a vacuum, the powder is uniformly sucked into the working chamber through a suction duct and evenly distributed in a rapidly flowing liquid flow. In the liquid flow, the powder is instantly wetted without forming agglomerated lumps. Due to the uniform wetting of the powder by the liquid flow from the beginning, there is no un wetted powder, and no crust formation on the surface of the liquid flow, stirring shaft, and container wall. Traditional craftsmanship is prone to forming hard crusts. It can be seen that using PLM system can greatly improve the quality of products. The main reason for the reduction of dust is that the vacuum is generated by the liquid flow, and all the powder is introduced into the liquid flow without any residue.
