2、 Properties and Applications of Polyacrylamide

Polyacrylamide is a linear polymer, mainly available in two forms: dry powder and colloid. According to their average molecular weight, they can be divided into three categories: low molecular weight (<1 million), medium molecular weight (2-4 million), and high molecular weight (>7 million). According to its structure, it can be divided into non-ionic, anionic, and cationic types. The anionic type is mostly PAM water splitting (HPAM). Polyacrylamide has a large number of amide groups on its main chain, which has high chemical activity and can be modified to produce many derivatives of polyacrylamide. The products have been widely used in industries such as papermaking, mineral processing, oil extraction, metallurgy, building materials, and sewage treatment.

Polyacrylamide, as a lubricant, suspension agent, clay stabilizer, oil displacement agent, fluid loss agent, and thickener, has been widely used in drilling, acidification, fracturing, water plugging, cementing, secondary oil recovery, and tertiary oil recovery. It is an extremely important oilfield chemical.

3、 Precautions for using polyacrylamide:

1. Size of flocs: Too small flocs can affect the speed of drainage, while too large flocs can restrict more water and reduce the moisture content of the mud cake. By selecting the molecular weight of polyacrylamide, the size of flocs can be adjusted.

2. Sludge characteristics: Sludge can be divided into two types: organic and inorganic sludge. Cationic polyacrylamide is used to dispose of organic sludge, while anionic polyacrylamide flocculants are used for inorganic sludge. When the alkalinity is strong, anionic polyacrylamide is used, but when the acidity is strong, it is not suitable to use anionic polyacrylamide. When the solid content is high, the amount of polyacrylamide used in sludge is usually large.

3. Floc strength: flocs should remain stable and not break under shear action. Improving the molecular weight of polyacrylamide or selecting appropriate molecular structures can help improve floc stability.

4. Ionic strength of polyacrylamide: For dehydrated sludge, coagulants with different ionic strengths can be selected through small-scale experiments to select the appropriate polyacrylamide, which can achieve better flocculant effects.

5. Polyacrylamide dissolution: Good dissolution is necessary to fully utilize the flocculation effect. Sometimes it is necessary to accelerate the dissolution rate, and at this time, it is advisable to consider increasing the concentration of polyacrylamide solution.


4、 Polyacrylamide and water mixed dispersion

5 XLC2000 powder liquid mixerIntroduction of

6、 Working principle of XLC2000 powder liquid mixer

Equipped with a specially designed rotor, with one inlet for liquid and one inlet for powder, the two phases can quickly disperse the powder upon instant contact. The machine can operate in a loop until all the powder is added, then seal the feeding inlet and continue to disperse and mix in the chamber. According to product requirements, the powder's properties can reach a concentration of up to 70%. Additionally, if the viscosity is too high, a pump can be added before the inlet.
