On the occasion of the 27th World Metrology Day, the launching ceremony of the 5th China Metrology University Metrology Science Popularization Festival and the Light Measurement Theme Demonstration Show were grandly held at the Yifu Metrology Museum of China Metrology University. As a national level manufacturing champion enterprise in the field of 3D scanning technology, Xianlin 3D was invited to participate in this event and reached a deep cooperation with the Museum of China Metrology University to inject new vitality into metrology popularization and industry trust.
Collaboration between schools and enterprises
Building a New High Ground for Science Popularization Together
As one of the major events of this event, the Museum of China Jiliang University and Xianlin 3D have officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Both sides will focus on the fields of optical metrology and 3D measurement, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the construction of science popularization platforms, resource sharing, and content co creation, promoting metrology science from laboratories and museums to a broader public view.

As the first achievement of the cooperation between the two parties, the popular science video "Measuring the Past and Present: From 'Knowing the Ruler with a Cloth Hand' to 'The Eye of Numbers'" was also released simultaneously. The video revolves around the evolution of length measurement, connecting the development trajectory of ancient and modern measurement: from the initial measurement based on the body, to the breakthrough of three-dimensional measurement in high-precision optical three-dimensional measurement, condensed in 5 minutes the leap of measurement from "fuzzy experience" to "precise constant". The in-depth interpretation of cultural relics in museums and the dialogue with high-precision 3D measurement technology on the same screen not only continue the roots of metrology culture, but also showcase the forefront of modern optical metrology.
To further make the technological charm of "measuring everything with light as a ruler" within reach, Xianlin 3D donated a tracking laser 3D scanning system and a fixed blue light to the museum
3D scannerWireless integrated 3D scanner and SHINING3D Inspect industrial metrology 3D inspection software. These software and hardware products will be stationed in museums for physical display, interactive experience, and research practice. Teachers, students, and the public can operate 3D scanners by hand, experience real-time 3D modeling and precision testing, and feel the power of metrology science through exploration.

Empowering the creation of new trust
In the subsequent science popularization sharing session, Liu Haihua, the marketing manager of the 3D brand, gave a keynote speech and performed live. She emphasized that in fields such as industrial manufacturing and dental medicine, a small dimensional tolerance can determine the success or failure of a product. The high-precision 3D scanning technology of Xianlin provides accurate basis for full-scale detection, reverse design and other applications by obtaining 3D point cloud data of the object surface through non-contact measurement.
Whether it's precision quality control in production, digital storage of cultural relics, or personalized adaptation of dentures, Xianlin 3D always uses high-precision, high-efficiency, and traceable 3D scanning measurement technology to ensure precision manufacturing and precise control through accurate measurement. This practice perfectly echoes the theme of World Metrology Day in 2026, "Metrology: The Foundation for Building Trust". Every reliable data acquisition lays a solid foundation for scientific decision-making and quality trust.
In the future, Xianlin 3D will work hand in hand with China University of Metrology. On one hand, we provide cutting-edge technology and industrial perspectives, while on the other hand, we safeguard the millennium measurement culture and popular science battlefield. Together, we will write a new chapter in measurement popularization and technological innovation.
Yifu Metrology Museum
The Metrology Museum of China University of Metrology was established in 2017 and is the first metrology cultural characteristic museum in universities across the country, with a building area of approximately 1700 square meters. There are currently more than 2300 pieces (sets) in the collection, with a large number of collections, a wide range of types, and great value. Among them, ancient Chinese weighing and measuring cultural relics are the most distinctive, making it one of the museums with the largest collection of weighing and measuring cultural relics in China.
The Metrology Museum uses various physical objects, text, images, and multimedia methods to showcase the history of ancient Chinese metrology and modern metrology in chronological order of historical development. The two basic exhibition halls of "Ancient Weights and Measures" and "Modern and Contemporary Weights and Measures" are now open, and there is a metaverse digital museum and a multimedia experience area around the screen that are matched with the exhibitions. The Metrology Museum has multiple functions such as exhibition display, popular science education, and academic research. In recent years, the number of visitors received has grown rapidly, and the annual cumulative number of visitors received has exceeded 20000. The Metrology Museum is gradually becoming an important platform for carrying out characteristic education, cultural exchange, popular science promotion, and academic exploration.
