2、 The main uses in coal-fired power plants are:

1. Combustion optimization and control (primary purpose):

Guidance on air coal ratio: Real time measurement of oxygen content in flue gas is a key indicator for determining whether boiler combustion is in a state.

Reduce energy consumption: maintain an excess air coefficient. Excessive oxygen content leads to increased smoke exhaust heat loss; Low oxygen content leads to the production of CO and unburned carbon, resulting in reduced efficiency and insecurity.

Realize automatic control: Input oxygen signal into DCS system, automatically adjust air supply volume, and achieve combustion closed-loop optimization.

2. Environmental monitoring:

Provide dry oxygen content data for calculating pollutant emission concentrations (such as SO ₂, NOx) for conversion and compliance reporting.

3. Safe operation:

Monitor low oxygen levels to prevent combustion related issuesfullyThe risk of reignition or explosion in the tail flue caused by this.

III Key points for installation and use

1. Installation location selection:

Typical location: on the vertical flue at the outlet of the economizer or the inlet of the air preheater. The flue gas here is evenly mixed and the temperature is moderate, which can represent the combustion condition at the furnace outlet.

Avoid dead corners: stay away from smoke eddies, dead corners, or dust accumulation areas.

Easy to maintain: Adequate maintenance space should be left.

2. Installation method:

Direct insertion: The sensor is directly inserted into the flue. Fast response, simple structure, is the mainstream approach. It is divided into high-temperature direct insertion type (without heater, smoke temperature needs to be>600 ℃) and low-temperature direct insertion type (with built-in heater, suitable for low-temperature flue).

3. Guarantee of key operating conditions:

Constant temperature: The zirconia probe must operate at a constant high temperature (usually controlled by a built-in heater at 700-750 ℃). Temperature fluctuations can seriously affect measurement accuracy.

Reference air: Clean, dry, and stable reference air must be provided. Usually equipped with a small air pump and filter.

Smoke conditions: It is required that the smoke flow rate be stable and avoid severe impact on the probe. For high dust smoke, dust filters or diffusion probes should be equipped.
