For the measurement of low limit values, the influence of the induced field (Earth's magnetic field) can no longer be ignored. In order to obtain position independent and reproducible measurement values, components need to be measured in a magnetic shielding environment (zero Gaussian chamber). The residual magnetism measurement of ferromagnetic components in the range of<4A/cm (~5 Gauss) is usually significantly affected by the induced Earth's magnetic field. Due to the geometric shape and magnetic permeability of the material, the induced magnetic field can be amplified several times. According to the slender part of the Earth's magnetic field (such as 0.4A/cm), the measurement results may fluctuate up to 4A/cm at the same measurement point.
