With the continuous advancement of science and technology, the requirements for the reliability and safety of machinery and equipment are also increasing. The monitoring of working conditions based on the operating status of machinery and equipment is becoming increasingly important in various countries, and oil pollution is the main cause of hydraulic and lubrication system failures.
Oil analysis and testing is equivalent to blood testing of the human body, and its importance is self-evident. Oil contamination is the main cause of equipment failure and reduced service life, and water pollution in oil is one of the most common types of pollutionWater pollution can cause many problems, such as additive loss, lubricant oxidation, corrosion, reduced lubricant film thickness, and microbial growth. Therefore, it is necessary to use an oil moisture detector to periodically detect the oil and grasp its pollution information, in order to prevent and reduce equipment downtime caused by malfunctions.
Yatai OptoelectronicsOil moisture analyzerUsing a constant temperature heater to heat it, the heating temperature is controlled between the boiling points of oil and water, causing the water in the oil to vaporize. Its volume expands by more than 1000 times, and when the water content is greater than 0.1%, it can produce a popping sound. The air bubbles in the oil, when heated, do not expand in volume by more than twice and do not produce a popping sound. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether lubricating oil or hydraulic oil can continue to be used based on whether there is a popping sound, and it is also possible to determine the amount of water in the oil based on the number and size of bubbles.
Operation steps:
1. Use cotton cloth, toilet paper, or other absorbent materials to wipe the two oil pools on the copper rod clean.
2. Plug in an AC 220V power supply, turn on the power switch, and the power indicator light will turn on. After 3-5 minutes, drop a drop of water into the oil pool of the copper rod. If there is a "hissing" sound and the water droplet evaporates, it means that the preheating is complete and the test can be carried out. If no bubbles are generated from the water droplets, it indicates that the instrument is faulty.
3. Method 1: Shake the test oil sample evenly, insert the sampling rod into the oil sample and lift it up. Drop one drop (about 24 milligrams) of the oil sample into any oil tank. If a popping sound is heard, it indicates that the moisture content in the oil sample exceeds the standard requirements. The cause of water ingress must be immediately checked and the oil must be replaced. If there are only bubbles and no sound when dropping one drop of oil sample, continuous and rapid dropping of three drops is necessary to hear the popping sound. If the number of bubbles is greater than 10 and the diameter is greater than 1mm, it indicates that the moisture content in the oil sample is between 0.1% and 0.2%. For hydraulic oil, the moisture content has exceeded the standard requirements and needs to be replaced; For lubricating oil, close monitoring is required. Whether adding one or multiple drops of oil to the oil tank, there are only 10 or fewer small (with a diameter of less than 0.8mm) bubbles, indicating that the moisture content in the oil is within the standard requirements and less than 0.1%.
4. Method 2: Determine the water content O by comparing it with a standard water containing oil sample. Prepare standard oil samples with water content of 0.1% and 0.2% using new oil to be tested. Drop one drop of the standard oil into one oil pool, and drop one drop of the test oil sample into the other oil pool. Carefully observe the size and number of bubbles in both oil pools. Compared with the standard oil sample, if the number of bubbles formed in the test oil sample is less and the diameter is smaller, it indicates that the water content of the test oil sample is smaller than that of the standard oil sample. Otherwise, it is larger.
5. After use, turn off the power, unplug the plug, wait for it to cool completely, and then wipe the heating rod clean with a soft paper or cloth.
Safety precautions and maintenance measures:
After the start of work, the temperature of the copper rod is relatively high. Before it is completely cooled (in the oil pool, a drop of water is dropped without producing any bubbles),
Do not directly touch the copper rod with your hands to prevent burns.
During work, do not let the heating element come into contact with flammable or explosive materials.
When not in use or when people leave during work, the power switch should be turned off and the plug should be unplugged from the power outlet to prevent accidents.
4. Do not forcefully pull, tug, or tug on the power cord to prevent internal wires from tearing off.
5. The interior is treated with insulation and sealing, and disassembly is prohibited.
