Multiphase Loop Jet Reaction Device

Jet reactor is a general term for a large type of reactor, which is a rapidly developing multiphase reactor in recent decades. It is mainly used for gas-liquid two-phase reactions and can also be used for gas-liquid solid three-phase reactions containing suspended particles such as catalysts. The loop jet reaction device mainly consists of an injector, a high-performance circulation pump, and an external heat exchanger to form a loop jet reaction system. The reaction principle is that the circulating liquid is accelerated by the nozzle and a large amount of gas is sucked up due to the self-priming effect. The gas is shattered by a high-speed jet and dispersed into the liquid phase of the jet reactor. The rapid flow of the fluid and the release of bubbles create high-speed turbulence throughout the reactor, causing the reactants to react through turbulent mixing and impact.

The bubbles in the jet reactor are one order of magnitude smaller than those in the bubble reactor, and the mass transfer coefficient is two orders of magnitude higher than that in the bubble reactor. Jet reactors have the advantages of good gas-liquid solid three-phase mixing effect, good multiphase mass transfer performance, high heat transfer energy efficiency, high operational flexibility, and simple reactor structure. They can fully utilize the catalytic performance and are an excellent type of reactor.

The injector used in the loop jet reaction device is generally a single nozzle Venturi structure, which has many excellent properties:

(1)Multiphase mass transfer performance is good. Gas liquid injection causes severe mixing of gas and liquid in the reactor, and the gas phase (liquid phase) is fully and uniformly dispersed in the liquid phase (gas phase). Countless small bubbles or droplets greatly increase the interfacial mass transfer and increase the mass transfer coefficient;

(2)High heat transfer efficiency;

(3)Good sealing performance, convenient for high-temperature and high-pressure reactions, with an operating pressure of up to 25MPa and an upper limit temperature of 350 ° C

(4)The catalyst flows rapidly with the liquid medium and has a good catalytic effect;

(5)Large working volume, good operational flexibility, reactor size ranging from a few liters to hundreds of cubic meters;

(6)The reactor has a simple structure, no relative moving parts, low failure rate, and is easy to maintain;

(7)The mass transfer rate and mixing effect have a small dependence on the reactor scale, making it easy to scale up in engineering;

(8)This reactor can be used in fields with harsh conditions, such as reactions with viscosity not exceeding 500cP or solid content below 30%.

(9)Widely used. Jet reactors can be applied to various types of reactions and are currently used in various fields such as hydrogenation, nitration, ethoxylation, propoxylation, alkylation, amination, acid to nitrile conversion, alkoxylation, esterification, carbonylation, sulfonation, and more. It also has certain applications in sewage and exhaust gas treatment, and continues to extend to other high heat release and multiphase reaction fields.
