Liquid fermentation is the process of fermenting using liquid as the culture medium. A liquid fermentation tank is a tank that enables the liquid fermentation process. The volume of liquid fermentation tanks varies from small to large, and can be either double or triple fermentation tanks, commonly ranging from 5L to 100000L. Wine fermentation, beer fermentation, and milk fermentation all belong to liquid fermentation. Liquid fermentation tanks are easy to operate, highly efficient, and cost-effective.
Liquid fermentation tanks are generally fully sealed, vertically structured, hygienic and clean containers with functions such as sterilization, cooling, insulation, and stirring. The liquid fermentation tank is equipped with a jacket, which can be heated or cooled separately by introducing a heating or cooling medium, allowing the fermentation liquid to obtain sufficient dissolved oxygen and mixing through the operation of the stirrer. The form of the jacket varies depending on the size of the liquid fermentation tank, including standard jacket type, Maitreya plate type, semi tube type, as well as snake tube or column tube type inside the tank. Generally, small liquid fermentation tanks use standard jacket type, while large liquid fermentation tanks often use Maitreya plate type, semi tube type, and tube type. The key control of a fermentation tank is temperature, so the heat exchange area must ensure sufficient heat exchange to achieve the controlled temperature for fermentation and maintain good temperature control. The configuration of the liquid fermentation tank system mainly includes transmission device, mechanical seal device, temperature control device, spotlight, sight glass, stirring device, manhole feeding port, steam inlet, condensate outlet, material outlet, sewage outlet, sampling port, 360 ° universal cleaning ball, etc. Most of the liquid fermentation process will produce foam, so the liquid fermentation tank needs to be equipped with defoaming paddles. The common forms of defoaming paddles are sawtooth, comb and orifice plate. The aperture of the orifice plate is about 10-20 millimeters. The length of the defoamer is approximately 0.65 times the diameter of the tank. Whether liquid fermentation tanks need ventilation depends on the fermented products and strains, such as common anaerobic fermentation tanks used for fermentation of alcohol, acetone, butanol, lactic acid, etc; Aerobic fermentation tanks are used for the production of antibiotics, enzyme preparations, yeast, amino acids, vitamins, and other fermentation products. Wine fermentation tanks and beer fermentation tanks belong to facultative anaerobic fermentation tanks.
