intelligent-mfgExhibition NewsVishay launches a new encoder for serial infrared wireless communication/*

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has launched a new compact encoder/TOIM5232 for serial infrared (IrDA?) wireless communication, further expanding its optoelectronic product portfolio.
This new device can provide appropriate RS-232 data signal pulse waveforms for serial infrared (SIR) IrDA transceivers and support data rates ranging from 1.2kbit/s to 115.2kbit/s. TOIM5232 adopts QFN (Quad Flat No Pin) packaging, with dimensions of 4mm × 4mm × 0.75mm. Its operation and performance are the same as TOIM4232, but it occupies less space.
Typical applications of TOIM5232 include wireless enabled data loggers and electricity meters; IrDA communication in mobile phones, laptops, PDAs, and other consumer electronics products; And medical applications such as blood glucose meters and home diagnostic devices.
The operating voltage of TOIM5232 ranges from 2.7 to 3 Between 6V, it can withstand an input voltage of 5V. The high current consumption in standby mode is very low, only 1? A. The programmable baud clock generator allows designers to choose 13 baud rates within the range of 1200Hz to 115kHz, or use an external clock.
In transmission mode, TOIM5232 shortens the RS-232 output signal into IrDA compatible electrical pulses to drive the infrared transceiver. In receiving mode, TOIM5232 will extend the received infrared pulses to an appropriate bit width based on the operating bit rate. TOIM5232 can be software programmed through the RS-232 port without the need for external wiring to set the baud rate.
