Due to the close proximity between Qingming and Cold Food, which is a day for people to ban fire and sweep tombs, gradually, Cold Food and Qingming merged into one, and Cold Food became another name for Qingming and a custom during the Qingming season. On Qingming, there were no fireworks and only cold food was eaten.
