Academician Zhang Yuanting, an IEEE Fellow of the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering, has proposed that one of the core technologies of health engineering is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and human intelligence (HI), with the goal of comprehensively integrating science, engineering, and medicine and transforming them into practical applications for human like health. Health engineering involves interdisciplinary research and technological innovation at multiple scales from molecular, cellular, organ to systemic biological levels.
