Classification of flow sensors:

Flow sensors can be divided into three categories based on technology and usage scenarios: flow switches, flow sensors, and flow meters.

From a technical perspective, the output signals of the three are different.

The output of the flow switch is a switch signal: NPN normally open/PNP normally closed;

The output of the flow sensor is an analog signal: 4-20mA/0-10V;

The flow meter displays the flow rate value.

From the perspective of usage scenarios, the functions of the three are different.

The flow switch is used for flow alarm, and it will immediately sound an alarm when the pipeline is cut off;

Flow sensors are used to control flow and adjust the size of pipeline flow;

Flow meters are used to measure flow rate and calculate the flow rate per unit time.

2. Principle and purpose:

Principle: When the medium passes through the pipeline, the sensor detects the flow rate and outputs a switch/analog signal.

Purpose: Used for measuring the medium inside pipelines

3. Function: The flow switch is used for interruption alarm; Flow sensors are used to control flow; Flow meters are used to measure flow rates.
