Detailed introduction to the functions and application characteristics of wireless communication modules

As a key link connecting the perception layer and network layer of the Internet of Things, the wireless communication module belongs to the underlying hardware part and is irreplaceable. It has a one-to-one correspondence with the Internet of Things terminals. In the process of connecting the IoT perception layer and the network layer, the device data generated by the IoT perception layer terminal needs to be aggregated to the network layer through a wireless communication module, and then remotely controlled through a cloud management platform. Through data analysis, management efficiency is improved.
The main functions of the wireless communication module are:
Communication function: Supports dual data transmission of GPRS and SMS, and supports multi center data communication. Collection function: Collect data from serial devices such as serial instruments, collectors, PLCs, etc. Remote management function: supports remote parameter settings and program upgrades.
Characteristics of wireless communication module: industrialized design, suitable for harsh outdoor environments. Built in hardware watchdog, does not crash or disconnect. Support transparent data transmission. Provide support for domain name resolution. Provide support for all configuration software and user developed software systems.
Compared with other methods, the wireless data transmission method established using the wireless data transmission module has the following advantages:
cheap Establishing a wired communication method requires the installation of cables or excavation of cable trenches, thus requiring a significant amount of manpower and material resources; To establish a wireless data transmission method for wireless data transmission stations, there is no need to install cables or dig cable trenches. Simply connect the wireless data transmission stations to each terminal and install antennas of appropriate height. Compared to this, the wireless data transmission method established using wireless data transmission modules saves manpower, material resources, and financial resources. Indeed, in some short-range data communication systems, wireless communication is not cheaper than wired communication, but sometimes the actual on-site environment is difficult to wire, and users still choose wireless communication according to the needs of the on-site environment.
The construction period is short. When communicating between long-distance stations that are several kilometers to tens of kilometers apart, wired communication requires the installation of long-distance cables or digging deep trenches, which may take several months. However, using data transmission modules for wireless data transmission only requires the installation of antennas at appropriate heights, and the project period only takes a few days or weeks. In contrast, wireless communication can quickly form a communication link, greatly reducing the project period.
Strong adaptability. Due to the limitations of wired communication, when encountering some special application environments, such as mountainous areas, lakes, forest areas, etc. where wiring is difficult or mobile objects are difficult to wire, it will greatly restrict the wiring engineering of wired networks. However, using wireless data transmission modules to establish wireless data transmission methods is not subject to these limitations. Therefore, it is believed that using wireless data transmission modules to establish wireless data transmission methods will have a wider adaptability than wired communication, and is almost not limited by geographical environment.
Good scalability. Due to system requirements, new devices are often added after users have built a communication network. If wired methods are used, rewiring is required, construction is more complicated, and the original communication lines will also be damaged. However, if wireless data transmission radio is used, a wireless data transmission method can be established by simply connecting the newly added equipment to the wireless data transmission radio to achieve system expansion. In comparison, the scalability is better.
