Omron showcases its "i-Automation" concept at the 2015 Industrial Fair
Date: 2016-01-21Read: 2

The 17th China Industrial Fair (CIIE) was grandly held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) from November 3rd to 7th. In order to align with the theme of "Made in China 2025" and emphasize innovation driven intelligent manufacturing and industrial transformation and upgrading, Omron, a manufacturer of automation control and electronic equipment, once again showcased its "i-Automation" concept in the industrial automation exhibition area of this year's CIIE, showcasing automation technology, products, intelligent solutions, and after-sales services to manufacturing enterprises.

The "i-Automation" concept proposed by Omron's automation business is based on sensing and control technology, combined with big data to assist manufacturing enterprises in creating intelligent factories where humans and machines can collaborate seamlessly. At this Industry Expo, the three exhibition areas of "information", "intelligence", and "innovation" will comprehensively showcase the technologies, products, and solutions required for intelligent production.

Information "emphasizes informatization, which means the integration of automation technology and big data analysis technology to assist manufacturing enterprises in creating more visual production lines. Through the video, Omron presents the operation of the production line to visitors. After being equipped with the Sysmac control platform and big data analysis software, the automation level of the production line has been greatly improved. Technical workers can more conveniently perform production operations from the manager interface, analyze whether the production process is operating properly, quickly judge and repair faults, and make production with machine cooperation a reality. The combination of Omron control technology and big data provides a complete set of equipment, management and other solutions for different production modes such as multiple varieties and small quantities, few varieties and large quantities.

In the "Diligence" area, Omron has brought a variety of advanced industrial robots and control technologies, including robots recently acquired from American robot manufacturer Adept, interactive air cushion balls, vibration suppression technology, and more. These robots, which utilize Omron's advanced control technology, can be applied to a wide range of manufacturing fields including electronics, automotive, food packaging, etc., greatly improving the efficiency of production lines. In today's world where labor costs continue to rise, the manufacturing industry needs to replace manual labor with robots, freeing workers from complex and tedious assembly line operations to do more creative work. Therefore, the sorting operation demonstration of Omron Delta Robot (parallel robot), which applies high-speed and high-precision control technology, has attracted a lot of attention. The Delta robot can quickly and orderly place building blocks according to established rules, and can be widely used in assembly line production.

In the "Innovation" area, Omron showcased innovative products targeting different manufacturing processes using its sensing and control technology. A "product wall" has been specially set up in the area to showcase Omron's diverse and powerful control and automation product line to the audience, including multiple new products such as NX7, which highlight the strength of Omron's product technology.

Omron Automation (China) Co., Ltd. President Dachang Hezhi stated that Omron's "i-Automation" concept coincides with China's current plan to promote "Made in China 2025": "As a supplier of the manufacturing industry, Omron continuously optimizes our products, sales, and services to meet the development needs of China's manufacturing industry. We have developed corresponding solutions for different industries to help Chinese manufacturing enterprises improve production efficiency and product quality. We hope to use this Industry Expo to convey Omron's" i-Automation "concept to Chinese manufacturing peers and help Chinese manufacturing enterprises achieve transformation and upgrading.
