The integrated intelligent KUKA robot represents the progress of bending technology
Date: 2016-01-07Read: 3

Current situation/task
KUKA robots and RAS MULTIBEND-ENTER work together on a single production line. MULTIBEND-ENTER is the name of RAS Reinhardt Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.'s metal sheet processing and bending center. On the production line, KUKA robots feed and unload materials for the bending equipment. The customer requires the equipment to be able to integrate seamlessly into existing production equipment.
Implementation measures/solutions
RAS Reinhardt Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. responded to this request with its high-tech robotic equipment. Using a scratch free process to bend the metal sheet in the RAS bending center; In this process, the board is kept flat on the working surface and transferred to the machine by the robotic arm. One KUKA robot feeds the blanks into the machine, while another KUKA robot takes out the bent parts. Both robots do not require training and work with their 'integrated intelligence'. The system is directly connected to the customer's high bay warehouse. There is a matrix code on the pallet used to load completed workpieces, which can be used to extract stamped sheets from the warehouse. *The Tokuka robot KR 150-2 retrieves a stack of boards from the pallet rack, flips them over, and feeds them into MULTIBEND-ENTER. After the bending process, another KUKA robot takes out the boxes and boards and stacks them onto the loading tray of the completed workpiece. Machine operators communicate with CNC machines and computers through RAS cell control computers.

Result/Effectiveness
The customer has obtained a highly automated solution for flexible metal sheet processing that can be seamlessly integrated into existing production equipment. The robot communicates with the cell control computer and the CNC program of the machine. Through this method, full automation can be achieved from the high bay warehouse to the bending process, and then to the stacking of completed workpieces onto pallets.
