Visitors to the Hanover Industrial Fair in Germany will have a feast for their eyes! They can appreciate the charm of electronic production and the clever combination of human and machine collaboration at the KUKA booth. As the leading manufacturer of industrial robots and automated production systems in Europe, KUKA will take its products and services to new heights in the fourth industrial revolution, known as Industry 4.0.
Therefore, while human labor remains the most important core value in the industrialization process, the application of robots will become a key element defining the future development of the industry. A flexible and most important safety production system can only achieve sustainable automation concepts on the basis of fully respecting the needs of production employees. At the 2015 Hanover Industrial Fair in Germany, KUKA, a robot and automation system manufacturer headquartered in Augsburg, will not only showcase to the world how KUKA's products can enhance customer competitiveness, but also demonstrate how the company can embrace this trend in an electronic age.
KUKA's booth is located in the "Industrial Automation" area of the exhibition hall, Hall 17, Booth G04. In a booth space of over 1000 square meters, KUKA will showcase innovative solutions with the same key feature: product design is designed to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0 and bring flexibility in production capacity, logistics, and sustainable resource utilization. KUKA achieves such innovation by integrating the IT world and traditional high-tech industrial solutions into a complete 'Network Physical Production System' (CPPS).
Having a mainstream IT infrastructure as the operating interface is particularly important in order to respond flexibly, control and process data flows from complex networks, and connect digital control data from different systems. In the 1990s, when KUKA first introduced computer-controlled robots on the market, this had already become a key concept. Subsequently, the company also followed this core integration concept to innovate and develop. With the direct cooperation between humans and robots achieved by members of the KUKA robot family, LBR iiwa lightweight robots and Sunrise controllers, KUKA will now go further and provide customers with truly "Industry 4.0 ready" products. This means that KUKA's products will have multiple external communication ports and an open, modular programming environment, and even achieve convenient connection with external systems and mechanical control system operations. Therefore, KUKA constantly focuses on open and interoperable standards.
KUKA focuses on mobility, control, and sustainable development
At the booth, KUKA showcased specific robot and system solutions to illustrate the three pillars of mobility, control, and sustainable development. Here, visitors can see that the core of the future 'smart factory' is related to people, not machines. KUKA's focus this year is on showcasing the innovative application LBR iiwa, which is the industry's leading use of safety technology and is suitable for collaborative lightweight robots in many series of operations. In addition, the booth will also showcase products and services provided by KUKA in other professional fields.
Warehouse logistics application
We are also proud to introduce Swisslog, a member of the KUKA family, at the Hanover Industrial Fair. This professional robot for logistics applications will showcase at the KUKA booth how robots and mobile warehousing logistics solutions can be combined to achieve maximum flexibility and improve productivity.
KUKA Becomes an Industry Model
In other aspects, KUKA Industrial Robotics will also showcase standard solutions for system control, as well as simple evaluations of production data at the control level. The system can be controlled through a special robot controller application, touch computer, or networked tablet computer from ReisPAD. Last year, KUKA Industrial Robotics successfully acquired the German Leis Group, laying a more solid technological foundation for the company's future development.
KUKA not only pays attention to the energy usage of the main booth, but also actively responds to the "Blue Energy Efficiency" initiative proposed by the German Machinery Equipment Manufacturers Association (VDMA). Here, visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to compete with robots riding bicycles and not only enjoy the passion of speed, but also experience the importance of energy conservation in a relaxed exercise practice.
