In recent years, the textile industry has developed rapidly. As a type of textile machinery, the edge sewing machine uses a sewing machine to sew the fabric after transporting half of it. In order to improve production efficiency, the active half seam sewing machine has emerged. However, many active half seam sewing machines may encounter a series of problems such as broken needles, skipped needles, and frequent wire breakage during rapid operation. Therefore, it is necessary to plan a more reasonable control system for active half seam sewing machines. In the past, mechanical roll forging machine feeding equipment often had a series of problems such as high mechanical cost, poor universality, insensitive adjustment, and poor human-machine interaction. This requires the development of a more reasonable feeding robot control system for roll forging machines to improve mechanical efficiency, enhance safety conditions, and strengthen equipment versatility. For this purpose, we have developed an active half seam sewing machine control system based on Sifang PLC, servo drive system, and frequency converter. This system has been successfully applied in a textile machinery factory in Zhejiang Province, and after several months of operation testing, the system has stable operation and high production efficiency, receiving recognition and praise from customers.
The control system in this plan uses EM1 series HMI to complete human-machine interaction, E550 series frequency converters for feeding, sewing machines, and fabric collection motors, and CA100 servo system for fabric collection roller transmission organization. EP1 series PLC is used for centralized control of the entire process. The basic working principle is that the HMI completes the setting and display of operating parameters, the PLC reads and writes the internal position parameters of the CA100 servo system through communication, and the servo system controls the motor to repeat the internal position movement based on the proximity switch signal from the external sewing machine end, driving the cloth roller to move the fabric.
Attention should be paid to the following issues when debugging the entire machine:
(1) It is necessary to ensure that the fabric is folded and the top and bottom are level before starting the sewing machine.
(2) Before adjusting the sewing machine speed, it is necessary to adjust the speed of the fabric feeding organization to a suitable range to ensure that the fabric between the feeding and the pulling is in a straight state.
(3) The frequency of the frequency converter for the fabric organization can be appropriately lower than that of the fabric feeding to ensure that the fabric roller is servo controlled during the pulling process.
According to the control system of the active half seam sewing machine planned by Sifang Electric Electromechanical Products, it effectively solves the problems of low efficiency, high cost, needle skipping, and wire breakage in manual feeding of traditional half seam sewing machines. The system uses a complete set of Sifang industrial control products, including HMI, PLC, servo and frequency converter, to ensure outstanding compatibility between each product. After months of on-site testing, the system's performance is stable and reliable, and production efficiency has significantly improved, meeting the practical production needs of users.
