What is an isolation and water replenishment device?

Isolation and water replenishment deviceIt is a type of cooling water system used for boiler systems, HVAC systems (heating/cooling), and closed-loop cooling water systemsConstant pressure water replenishment equipment.

Its core purpose:

  • Automatically replenish water to the system

  • Maintain system pressure stability

  • Completely isolate tap water from system water to prevent cross contamination

  • Avoid oxygen corrosion and reduce system scaling

Suitable for:
Boiler heating system, air conditioning system, industrial circulating water, heat exchange station, etc.

2、 Key characteristics of isolation and hydration

Traditional water replenishment uses tap water directly added to the system, which can easily lead to:

  • Oxygen entering the system exacerbates corrosion

  • Unstable water quality and increased scaling

  • Impurities enter the equipment and damage the pump/heat exchanger

The isolation and water replenishment device achieves full isolation through a "diaphragm pressure tank" to avoid the above-mentioned problems.

3、 Working principle of isolation and water replenishment device

Main structure:

  1. Diaphragm type pneumatic tank (emphasis)

    • Internally divided into water chamber and air chamber

    • Isolation with pressure resistant rubber diaphragm in the middle

    • NEVER tap water contacts the system water to achieve true isolation

  2. make-up water pump
    Automatically replenish water to the system.

  3. Pressure sensor/pressure switch
    Real time monitoring of system pressure.

  4. Control cabinet (PLC or intelligent controller)

Workflow (simplified understanding)

① System pressure drops (water shortage)

Pressure sensor detects: low pressure
Controller starts the water replenishment pump
Tap water enters the diaphragm tank "water chamber"
The gas inside the tank is compressed and replenished into the system through the outlet of the tank

✔ At this point, tap water did not directly enter the system and was always separated by a diaphragm.


② The system pressure has reached the set value

The water replenishment pump automatically stops
System restoration and stable operation


③ System heating or expansion

When the pressure rises:

Excess water enters the diaphragm tank and is compressed by gas
