The filtering medium of the sand and gravel filter is quartz sand filter material. When the circulating water passes through the quartz sand filter material, impurities in the water are intercepted, thereby achieving the purpose of filtration and purification of the effluent.Our company has developed a new generation of fully automatic sand and gravel filtration system based on years of technical experience and hard work. This product has a compact structure and high degree of automation. Its unique structure can reduce the turbidity of the effluent to below 0.5 NTU, and the impurity filtration accuracy can reach 5 microns. This device can automatically backwash and has a low operating cost.The system is composed of multiple speed sand cylinder units, which are equipped with independent water distributors and collectors, and have independent bidirectional automatic flushing valves. It can achieve individual backwashing of multiple speed sand cylinders during normal system operation, with fully automatic program control. It has the advantages of low backwash water consumption, convenient equipment installation, and easy operation. This device has high traffic and does not require maintenance. According to different user requirements, there are two series: vertical and horizontal. Suitable for water quality treatment of industrial circulating water and agricultural irrigation systems.

Compared with other sand filtration equipment, the required head of the filtration water pump is 6-7m lower.
Water saving: Due to its unique water replenishing and collecting device, as well as a standardized tank, the system can achieve even expansion of the medium layer during backwashing without the need for compressed air. The water used for backwashing is filtered clean water, so the amount of backwashing water consumed is small. The backwash water volume of a single tank is only 1m3/min, and the backwash time is 2-3 minutes.
Save maintenance costs: The entire system does not have mechanical or electric valves, and only relies on a single multifunctional valve to control the system's backwashing. Due to its non wear and tear, long lifespan, and no damage records within 10 years, the multifunctional valve has low management costs.

The shallow medium (sand) filter is mainly composed of a stainless steel (304 material) filter cap, filled with quartz sand with a particle size of 2-4 millimeters, and a backwash control device, controller, and tank body. For the installation of 25 cm quartz sand in agricultural tanks and 45 cm quartz sand in industrial tanks.
Backwashing is achieved by an automatic controller, differential pressure sensor, three-way valve, and electromagnetic head.
Working principle:
Positive washing filtration state: When the system is in the filtration state, unfiltered water is evenly distributed through a self-developed water distributor, and the water passes through the packing layer (refined homogeneous quartz sand/garnet) inside the filter in a laminar flow state. When water flows through the packing layer, impurities are trapped within the packing layer. There are multiple evenly distributed water collectors at the bottom of the filter, which collect and extract the filtered water evenly. Horizontal flow filtration allows the filter to filter at the flow rate and still achieve a relatively filtering effect.
Backwash state: As impurities accumulate in the packing layer, the internal head loss will continue to increase. When the pressure head loss of the inlet and outlet reaches the set value, the system will automatically activate the constant pressure device to switch to the backwash state. When this backwash is completed, the hydraulic valve changes the water supply direction to achieve backwashing one by one, making it easier to clean the accumulated impurities.
When the system is in backwash state, filtration continues, and the unit sand cylinder that needs to be backwashed is not filtered, while other unit sand cylinders in the system are still filtering. The filtered clean water is used to backwash the unit sand tank, while the rest is still sent to the user. The backwash wastewater is discharged through the backwash drainage outlet of the hydraulic valve. In the fully automatic filtration system of the sand tank, the special water collector design allows the fillers to rub against each other, maximizing the backwashing effect and reducing the required backwashing water (cleaning water), while there is no material leakage during backwashing. The backwash of a unit sand cylinder lasts for 2 minutes. After the backwash is completed, the internal pressure loss of the unit sand cylinder is reduced to a reasonable range. The constant pressure device gives a recovery signal, and the hydraulic valve returns to the filtering state. The next unit sand cylinder is ready to enter the backwash state.
