UV resistant quartz fiber
Negative sensing phenomenon (also known as photodegradation) refers to the formation of defect centers within optical fibers, resulting in a decrease in transmittance. When the fiber is exposed to light with a wavelength below 300 nm, these defect centers will form. And anti UV radiation optical fibers have better anti UV radiation capabilities than standard optical fibers, making them suitable for spectroscopic applications such as pollution analysis and chemical treatment, UV lithography, and medical diagnosis.

Ordinary optical fibers can cause significant transmission loss when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. However, anti UV irradiation optical fibers can provide higher transmittance, as shown in the above figure. In order to achieve better performance, optical fibers need to be exposed to ultraviolet radiation for initial attenuation before use. The length of exposure time is determined by the light source and power. After exposure, when equilibrium is reached, the anti ultraviolet irradiation fiber can be used normally.

Anti UV irradiation quartz fiber&little knowledge
Under strong ultraviolet light irradiation, the transmittance of a typical ultraviolet quartz fiber will decrease after a period of time. To prevent this phenomenon, we use special fiber doping, special rod making process, and drawing process to obtain an anti ultraviolet quartz fiber with basically unchanged transmittance under long-term ultraviolet light irradiation (1d). The transmission wavelength of the fiber is between 190nm and 1100nm, which has better performance and advantages for spectral analysis.
