• The three legged polisher was designed by scientists from IBM East Fishkill Laboratory and is a precision instrument for preparing micro scale SEM and TEM electron microscopy samples. It can polish the sample to 1 μ m or smaller, greatly reducing the dependence of the sample on ion thinning and shortening the preparation time. When preparing TEM samples, it can limit the ion thinning time to less than 15 minutes, and sometimes even eliminate the ion thinning process. Tripod Polisher 590 can be used for the preparation of various flat and cross-sectional samples. Suitable for various materials, such as ceramics, polymer composites, metals, minerals, semiconductor materials, etc.
