Sulfides in water samples react with hydrogen ions under acidic conditions to generate hydrogen sulfide, which is carried out by purified air to the absorption solution. The hydrogen sulfide forms a yellow complex with the absorption solution, and the absorbance A is measured at 395nm. The concentration of sulfides in the water sample is obtained by querying the standard working curve based on the A value.
