Milli-QAll systems in the series adopt a three-step purification process:
Step 1:
The plug-in Q-Gard purification column is customized according to the inlet water quality, aiming to optimize the performance of downstream purification steps to ensure the accuracy of the results.
Step 2:
Quantum applies specific purification columns to reduce ions and organic pollutants to trace levels.
Step 3:
The ultimate purification of ultrapure water is performed using a 0.22 μ m Millipak membrane at the water intake point, which is recommended for most analytical applications.

UV light oxidation:
The ultraviolet photooxidation process (UV, 254 and 185nm) is used in Milli-Q Gradient, Synthesis and Element systems, which can effectively destroy organic molecules and reduce TOC content to below 5ppb, thereby improving performance and sensitivity in applications such as HPLC, IC, solid-phase extraction and UV spectroscopy.
Ultrafiltration:
Milli-QThe Biocel and Synthesis systems include a Pyrogard 5000 purification column for producing ultrapure water (<0.001 EU/mL) without heat sources and nucleases, which is particularly important in life science or molecular biology applications.
