The EU officially replaced the old standard EN12472:1998 with the latest version of nickel release testing (EN12472:2005) in 2006. Starting from March 1, 2013, the old EU nickel release standard EN 1811:1998+A1:2008 was replaced by the new standard EN 1811:2011.

Testing method:Simulating the wear state of metal products in contact with human cortex for two years, soaking them in artificial sweat under certain conditions for 7 days, and quantitatively analyzing the nickel content in the soaking solution with atomic absorption spectrometer, with a limit of 0.5 micrograms per square centimeter per week.
