Product Introduction
Industrial ultrapure water equipment generally uses reverse osmosis membrane components as the core components for desalination, and the effluent water quality does not contain organic matter such as bacteria and viruses. Industrial ultrapure water equipment has the advantages of strong automation, low energy consumption, high water utilization rate, reasonable structure, and small footprint, and is therefore highly favored by users.
Process Design
Continuous electric desalination is the process of using a mixed ion exchange resin filled in a freshwater chamber to adsorb anions and cations in the water. At the same time, these adsorbed ions undergo lateral electromigration under the action of a direct current voltage and enter the concentrated water chamber through the cation exchange membrane to be removed. On the other hand, in the direction of water supply, due to the continuous removal of ions, the conductivity of the solution becomes lower and lower. Under the action of direct current voltage, water will dissociate to produce sufficient H+and OH - ions to maintain the current of the system. These H+and OH - ions produced by hydrolysis will not only undergo lateral electromigration, but also regenerate the resin adsorbed with ions on site, thereby achieving continuous deep desalination. Therefore, the essence of the EDI process is a comprehensive process of ion exchange, electrodialysis, and hydrolysis to generate H+and OH - ions for resin regeneration. During this process, ion exchange resin only serves as a conductor for ions, so there is no need to regenerate with acid or base. Electrodialysis is the method used by EDI for desalination. However, the resin will eventually experience ion leakage due to adsorption saturation, making it impossible for the desalination process to operate continuously and stably. Water dissociation is the core of EDI, and it is necessary to achieve water dissociation.
