This radar Doppler flowmeter is an instrument used to measure the flow velocity and water level of water in natural water bodies. The working frequency of the ranging radar unit is 80GHz, and the working frequency of the speed measuring radar unit is 24GHz. The measurement point is located in front of the body and does not disrupt the flow field. It is suitable for measuring in rivers with high suspended sediment content, abundant floating debris such as aquatic plants, and extremely harsh ice age conditions. It can be widely used for flow monitoring in water level monitoring stations, irrigation canals, sewage and rainwater pipe networks, etc. -CN1
Performance Characteristics
working principle
The measurement principle of radar Doppler flowmeter is based on the Doppler effect in physics. According to the Doppler effect of electromagnetic waves, when there is relative motion between the wave source and the observer, the frequency perceived by the observer will be different from the frequency emitted by the wave source. The frequency change of this relative motion is directly proportional to the relative velocity of the two objects. In the radar Doppler flow measurement method, the radar sensor emits electromagnetic waves, which generate frequency offset upon contact with the fluid surface and reflect back onto the receiver. The frequency difference between the transmitted wave and the received wave is the Doppler frequency shift of the wave generated by fluid motion. Since this frequency difference is proportional to the fluid flow velocity, measuring the frequency difference can obtain the flow velocity and thus the fluid flow rate.
