The significance of measuring acid value: There are a large number of oil filled electrical equipment in power systems and industrial and mining enterprises, and acid value is one of the main control indicators for the degree of oil aging during operation. According to the size of the acid value, the amount of acidic substances contained in the oil can be determined. Generally, the higher the acid value, the more acidic substances are contained in the oil. Due to the influence of oxygen, temperature, and other conditions during operation, oil will gradually oxidize to produce a series of oxidation products. Among these oxidation products, acidic substances are more harmful, which can improve the conductivity of the oil, reduce its insulation, and shorten the operating life of the equipment. In addition, acidic substances in oil can also corrode metal materials such as copper, iron, and aluminum used in equipment components, and the generated metal salts are catalysts for oxidation reactions, which can accelerate the aging process of oil. The higher the acid value of the turbine oil, the more it indicates that the oil has aged deeply. The formation of cyclic acid soaps in the oil can promote oil emulsification, damage the lubrication performance of the oil, cause wear and heat generation of the components, and affect the safe operation of the unit. Therefore, the acid value in oil testing is of great significance for production, use, storage, and other aspects, and is a key indicator to determine whether the product is qualified.

working principle:It's based on《GB 264-1983 Determination of Acid Value of Petroleum Products《Designed according to GB/T 28552-2012 "Determination of Oleic Acid Value of Transformer Oil and Steam Turbine Oil (BTB Method)" (GB/T 7599-1987 "Determination of Oleic Acid Value of Transformer Oil and Steam Turbine Oil in Operation (BTB Method) has been abolished), its working principle is to inject a fixed volume of extraction solution each time, then add a known mass of sample, stir and extract, and then titrate with 0.02-0.05mol/L potassium hydroxide ethanol solution until the solution shows a significant color change as specified by the national standard (when using BTB indicator, the endpoint of neutralization titration is the solution changing from yellow to blue-green). Record the number of milliliters of potassium hydroxide ethanol solution consumed to calculate the acid value of the sample.
