Geotek Company Introduction:
Geotek, a British company, is the designer and manufacturer of the world's best-selling core equipment MSCL (Multi Sensor Core Logger Core Comprehensive Testing System, also known as Multi Parameter Core Scanner). Almost every laboratory engaged in core research work in the world (scientific research, engineering exploration, oil drilling, etc.) has installed MSCL, with over 220 users. MSCL has very stable, reliable, and durable performance, suitable for both laboratory and field use. It has been widely used in core libraries, geological key laboratories, temporary field laboratories, offshore survey ships, deep-sea drilling ships, and engineering ships around the world. Geotek is the most commonly used core analysis equipment by scientists. Wherever there are rock cores on Earth, there are Geotek products.
If a core is worth taking, it's worth logging... Core is precious, data is priceless.

MSCL is currently the most widely used core scanner in the international scientific research and engineering fields, with over 220 users worldwide! MSCL is currently the most comprehensive integrated testing system for core geophysical and chemical properties in the world, applied to seabed sediment column samples, lake sediment column samples, rock cores, etc. The characteristic of MSCL is that it does not damage the sample, and multiple measurements are synchronized, fast, accurate, efficient, and fully automated. The maximum 10 parameters that can be measured include: P-wave velocity, gamma density, resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, color spectrophotometer, natural gamma rays, optical photography system, high-precision XRF element concentration (or handheld XRF), far-infrared temperature, visible and near-infrared ground spectra, etc. Customers can freely choose according to their own needs. Different MSCLs have different structures and can directly measure the entire rock core stored in plastic pipes, as well as measure cut open rock cores. Some measurements can be made through aluminum or stainless steel materials, but generally speaking, measurements made through plastic have better results. The multi model MSCL configuration has many advantages, which can be measured for different rock cores, operating conditions, and occasions to achieve the best results. MSCL has very stable, reliable, and durable performance, suitable for both laboratory and field use. It has been widely used in core libraries, geological key laboratories, temporary field laboratories, offshore survey ships, deep-sea drilling ships, and engineering ships around the world.

Various types of pressure chambers with different lengths (up to 1.2m in length and 35MPa in pressure)
High pressure holding storage compartment
Introduction: The core holding chamber designed by Geotek is compatible with the PCATS system. These pressure holding chambers can be used to store core samples onshore for short or long periods of time at the pressure level of the collection site. Short term storage (a few days) is usually used for drilling ships to extract rock cores, while long-term storage (several months or even years) is usually used for detailed testing of samples.

The pressure holding chamber can be used to store core samples with a maximum diameter of 63mm and a maximum length of 3.5m (with plastic liners). The rock core is stored in seawater or freshwater, and the maximum working pressure of the pressure holding chamber is 350 bar (35 MPa; 5076 psi). The main body of the pressure chamber is made of high-strength aluminum alloy, which can be penetrated by X-rays. The spherical valve and flange located at the end of the pressure holding chamber for connecting with the PACTS system are made of stainless steel and titanium. The two ends of the pressure holding chamber are composed of 6mm joint locking nut devices, spherical valves, safety diaphragms, and pressure safety valves that comply with pipeline engineering standards to ensure the safety of the entire pressure holding chamber.
Preservation of rock cores containing natural gas hydrates under pressure
Geotek's pressure holding chamber can be used to store rock cores containing natural gas hydrates. Natural gas hydrates require a high-pressure and low-temperature environment to maintain their stability. For example, at 100 bar, storing such rock cores requires maintaining a temperature below 12 ° C. Therefore, high pressure and low temperature are two necessary conditions for preserving samples containing natural gas hydrates (excluding freezing them). The simplest way to achieve this condition is to store the warehouse in a refrigerated compartment (usually maintained at around 4 ° C). Regular monitoring is crucial for the safety of the warehouse. If any slow leakage occurs, a pressure pump system can be used to restore the pressure inside the compartment. During transportation, a gas/water accumulator is usually added to the warehouse to minimize temperature changes and pressure leakage as much as possible.
Operation and transportation of pressure holding warehouse
Be very careful during the transportation and operation of the pressure holding warehouse. When independently moving a 1.75-meter-long pressure chamber in a flat position, it can be transported by electric scooter or handcart. When a large amount of this product needs to be moved by forklifts or other equipment, Geotek will provide shelves that can be used to securely store four pressure holding compartments; These shelves have been proven to withstand the corresponding load. When transporting precious samples in a pressure storage compartment on the highway, safe packaging in a refrigerated state is crucial, and it is best to use a transport device with an 'air ride' suspension system for transportation.
