The thickness of the insulation layer can be checked using a needle thickness gauge or a steel probe. During inspection, insert the probe vertically until it reaches the equipment or pipeline wall, and then measure the thickness with a steel ruler. The reading accuracy should reach ± 1mm.
The sampling points for quality inspection are to randomly check three locations every 30m2 for equipment and one location every 20m for pipelines. When one of the items is found to be unqualified, additional sampling points should be taken for re inspection. If half of the items are still unqualified, the item should be deemed unqualified.
