When measuring with a heavy metal online monitoring device, the sample retention device first draws the measured wastewater into a water collection bottle. The heavy metal online monitoring device then extracts a water sample from the water collection bottle for measurement. When the water sample exceeds the standard, a signal of exceeding the standard is emitted. The sample retention device automatically stores the water sample in the water storage bottle, and the retained water sample matches the measured water sample.
