How to maintain the split colloid mill
Date: 2025-10-30Read: 0
As a high-precision grinding equipment, the maintenance and upkeep of the split colloid mill should focus on mechanical accuracy, sealing performance, lubrication system, and operating standards. Specific measures can be taken from the following aspects:1、 Daily operation standards
-
Check before startup
- Confirm that the equipment signboard is "normal", check if the hopper and discharge circulation pipe are securely connected, and if the direction of the circulation pipe valve is correct (discharge direction closed, circulation direction open).
- Check the rotation direction of the motor: After connecting the power supply, observe whether the rotation direction of the rotor is consistent with the "red warning sign" arrow on the base (clockwise) from the feeding pipe diameter. It is strictly prohibited to idle (lack of liquid in the cavity) and reverse.
- Adjusting the grinding disc gap: The equipment has been adjusted to the optimal processing fineness spacing at the factory. If adjustment is needed, loosen the upper limit screw of the material opening block, loosen the adjustment disc handle counterclockwise, and turn the adjustment disc clockwise until there is slight resistance. After recording the scale, reverse it a few times to make the gap slightly larger than 0 (0.01mm per large scale), lock the handle and adjust the limit screw.
-
Monitoring during operation
- It is strictly prohibited to close the discharge valve to avoid leakage caused by excessive pressure in the grinding chamber.
- Control the flow and head within the range indicated on the label to ensure that the equipment operates at a high efficiency point.
- Monitoring bearing temperature: The temperature above the ambient temperature should not exceed 30 ℃, and the maximum temperature should not exceed 80 ℃.
- When abnormal sounds, vibrations, or electrical leakage are detected, immediately stop the machine for inspection.
-
Post shutdown processing
- Before shutting down, add an appropriate amount of water to the hopper to maintain the reflux state of the circulation pipe and avoid damage to the hard seal.
- Pay attention to the motor load when processing materials, and reduce feeding when overloaded.
2、 Cleaning and disinfection
-
Daily cleaning
- After cutting off the power, rinse the hopper, discharge pipe, and circulation pipe with purified water. Remove the gasket and use a stainless steel wire ball dipped in cleaning solution to scrub the inner and outer walls. Rinse with purified water until there is no odor.
- After reinstalling the components, rinse the machine with purified water in a half cycle until the effluent is clean. After draining the grinding water, stop the machine.
- Disinfect by circulating 75% ethanol for 30 seconds, and after draining the ethanol, wipe the surface with a clean cloth.
-
deep cleaning
- Regularly disassemble the stator and rotor assembly: remove the hopper and inlet/outlet nozzles, loosen the cap screws, remove the dial and large chuck, lift up the grinding head cover to remove the stator assembly; Remove the discharge port, unscrew the left-hand screw, and take out the rotor and impeller.
- After cleaning each component, apply lubricating oil for assembly, and be careful not to damage, misplace, or lose the sealing ring.
3、 Lubrication and sealing maintenance
-
lubrication system
- Regularly add bearing lubricating oil to the bearing body, and the oil level should be at the centerline of the oil gauge. Change the lubricating oil after 100 hours of work, and then change the oil every 500 hours thereafter.
- Add # 1 calcium based grease to the motor bearings every six months. When the working medium temperature of the mechanical seal is below 60 ℃, use # 40 or # 50 engine oil, and when it is above 60 ℃, use # 1 calcium based grease.
-
Seal inspection
- Mechanical seals should be inspected quarterly and replaced every six months. When scratches are found on the hard sealing surface, use ≥ 200 # silicon carbide grinding paste to grind and repair on the flat glass; If the damage is severe, replace it immediately.
- When reinstalling the components after maintenance, use a dial gauge to calibrate the coaxiality error between the housing and the spindle to be ≤ 0.05mm. When disassembling, use a wooden hammer or wooden block to strike to avoid damaging the parts directly with an iron hammer.
4、 Regular maintenance and parts replacement
-
Half year maintenance
- Check the temperature of the main bearing shell (not exceeding 60 ℃), the lubrication condition of the reducer, and the adequacy of the oil supply.
- Check the smoothness of the cooling system, the normal operation of the oil scraper brush and oil scraper plate, and the good sealing of the felt at both ends.
- Check the sealing condition of the feeding device, discharging device, and gear cover. If there is severe wear or the sealing effect is affected, adjust or replace them in a timely manner.
-
Part replacement standard
- Replace the lining plate when the thickness is worn by 70% or there is a 70mm crack; Replace when the head of the lining plate bolt is worn and loose.
- When the main bearing spherical tile leaks, the hollow shaft cracks, or the Babbitt alloy inside the main bearing is severely worn or crushed, replace the bolts with new ones and pour the Babbitt alloy again.
5、 Special environmental treatment
-
Winter seasonAfter parking, unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of the pump body and drain the medium to prevent freezing and cracking.
-
Long term discontinuationDisassemble the equipment and dry off any moisture, apply grease to the rotating parts and joints, and store them properly.
