What are the precautions for MESA carbon analyzer
Date: 2025-06-03Read: 20
When using the MESA carbon analyzer, attention should be paid to equipment inspection, operating procedures, environmental safety, data recording, and daily maintenance, as follows:

Equipment inspection and placement

  • Equipment inspectionBefore use, it is necessary to check whether the instrument is damaged, whether there is looseness or displacement, and whether the power cord and wire joints are normal. If any problems are found, the equipment should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
  • Equipment placementThe instrument should be placed on a stable and flat ground, ensuring good ventilation around it and avoiding use in enclosed spaces. During the operation of the instrument, do not approach, touch or move the instrument to prevent danger.

Operating Specifications

  • Installation of sampling tubeTake out the sample from the retention bottle and insert the sampling tube vertically into the retention bottle to avoid breakage or damage to the sampling tube.
  • Operation panel settingsOn the control panel, set parameters such as detection time, background measurement, and sample size according to experimental requirements. Before setting, carefully review the equipment manual to ensure correct settings.
  • Sampling tube placementPlace the sampling tube on the device and connect the leads. Be careful not to place the sampling tube too close to the heating element to avoid causing a fire or damaging the heating element.

Environment and Safety

  • Hazardous materials managementIf there are hazardous materials such as explosive, flammable, corrosive, etc. in the laboratory, they should be stored according to regulations and the experimental environment should be closely monitored.
  • Ventilation requirementsDuring the measurement process of the carbon analyzer, gases such as carbon dioxide are generated. To ensure the health and safety of the experimental personnel, it is necessary to ensure normal ventilation in the laboratory.
  • Firefighting equipment configuration: The laboratory should be equipped with effective fire-fighting equipment, such as fire extinguishers, spray, purifiers, etc., to deal with sudden fire or other dangerous events and protect the safety of personnel and equipment.

Data recording and analysis

  • data recordingThe MESA carbon analyzer has data recording and storage functions, which can record various environmental parameters and sample status information in real time during the testing process. Users need to view and record relevant data in a timely manner.
  • data analysisUsers can download measurement results and related information via USB and transfer them to a computer for data analysis and processing using software.

routine maintenance

  • regular inspectionEstablish a comprehensive system of instrument specialists and patrol inspection personnel, who need to master the professional knowledge of instrument working principles, structures, key parts, etc., and be responsible for daily use management and maintenance. Inspection personnel need to regularly inspect the instruments, promptly identify abnormalities and hidden dangers, and conduct regular maintenance.
  • Cleaning and maintenanceThe surface of the instrument casing should be gently wiped with warm water and a soft cloth, and organic solutions such as ethanol and acetone should be avoided. When the instrument is not in use, it needs to be protected with a dust cover and several bags of moisture-proof silicone should be placed inside the cover to prevent the lamp chamber from getting damp, and the mirror surface from getting moldy or contaminated, which will affect the energy of the instrument.
  • Power on preheatingThe instrument cannot be left unused for a long time. If it is not used for a period of time, it is recommended to turn it on 1-2 times a week for about half an hour each time to extend the service life of the instrument.
