Danfoss pressure transmitter malfunction and solution
Date: 2025-09-16Read: 18
Common faults of Danfoss pressure transmitters include no output, abnormal output (too high or too low), incorrect pressure indication, and unstable output signal. The following are specific fault symptoms and solutions:1、 No output fault
-
cause of failure:
- Power supply issue: Low power supply voltage, reversed power supply connection, or no output from the power supply.
- Wiring issues: The pressure tube switch is not turned on, the pressure tube is blocked, the instrument output circuit is disconnected or wired incorrectly.
- Component damage: Poor contact of internal connectors, damaged header, or electronic device malfunction.
-
solution:
- Check if the power supply voltage is stable and the polarity is correct, ensuring that the power supply voltage is ≥ 12V (input terminal voltage).
- Turn on the pressure pipe switch, clear the pressure pipe, check and connect the breakpoint to ensure correct wiring.
- Replace damaged meter heads or electronic components, and identify and address poor contact issues with internal connectors.
2、 Output too high or too low fault
-
Reason for high output fault:
- Power issue: Abnormal power supply voltage.
- Range issue: The actual pressure exceeds the selected range of the pressure transmitter.
- Component damage: The pressure sensor is damaged or the wiring is loose.
-
Solution for high output:
- Check if the power supply voltage is normal and ensure that there is no heavy load in the circuit.
- Re select a pressure transmitter with an appropriate range.
- Replace the damaged pressure sensor, connect the wires and tighten them.
-
Reason for low output fault:
- Power issue: The power supply voltage is too low.
- Range issue: The actual pressure exceeds the selected range of the pressure transmitter.
- Component damage: The pressure sensor is damaged.
-
Solution for low output:
- Check if the power supply voltage is normal and ensure that there is no heavy load in the circuit.
- Re select a pressure transmitter with an appropriate range.
- Replace the damaged pressure sensor.
3、 Incorrect pressure indication fault
-
cause of failure:
- Power issue: Abnormal power supply voltage.
- Instrument problem: The accuracy of the reference pressure gauge is low or the range of the pressure indicating instrument is inconsistent with the range of the pressure transmitter.
- Wiring issue: The instrument input and corresponding wiring are incorrect.
- Component damage: The pressure sensor is damaged or there are impurities blocking the pipeline.
-
solution:
- Check if the power supply voltage is normal and ensure that there is no heavy load in the circuit.
- Replace the high-precision pressure gauge to ensure that the range of the pressure indicator is consistent with the range of the pressure transmitter.
- Connect the wires correctly according to the input type of the instrument. For example, when the pressure indicator inputs 4-20mA, the transmitter output signal can be directly connected; If the input is 1-5V, a resistor with an accuracy of one thousandth or more and a resistance of 250 Ω should be connected to the input terminal of the pressure indicator before connecting it to the transmitter input.
- Clean up impurities in the pipeline and add a filter screen in front of the pressure interface; Replace the damaged pressure sensor.
4、 Unstable output signal fault
-
cause of failure:
- Interference issue: Pulsation of residual liquid, gas, or measured medium in the pressure conduit.
- Power supply issue: The power supply voltage is too low or too high.
- Wiring issue: There is poor contact or intermittent short circuit in the output circuit.
- Component damage: The pressure sensor is damaged or the internal connectors have poor contact.
-
solution:
- Drain the liquid and gas from the pressure tube, adjust the damping to eliminate the influence of pulsation in the measured medium.
- Adjust the power supply voltage to a stable value (such as 24V).
- Check the wiring in the output circuit to ensure good contact and no intermittent short circuits.
- Replace the damaged pressure sensor, identify and address the issue of poor contact in the internal connectors.
