Precautions for operating Ting Yang brand valves
Date: 2017-09-23Read: 1

The correct operation of valves directly affects their service life and is related to the smooth and safe production of equipment and devices. In operation, the following issues should be noted.
High temperature valves, when the temperature rises above 200 ℃, the bolts elongate due to heat, which can easily cause the valve to seal poorly. At this time, it is necessary to perform "hot tightening" on the bolts. During hot tightening, it is not advisable to do it in the fully closed position of the valve to avoid the valve stem being stuck and difficult to open in the future.
During seasons when the temperature is below 0 ℃, for valves that stop steam and water supply, it is important to open the threaded plug at the bottom of the valve to drain condensate and accumulated water, in order to prevent the valve from freezing and cracking. Attention should be paid to insulation work for valves that cannot eliminate accumulated water and valves that work intermittently. The packing gland should not be pressed too tightly, and should be operated flexibly by the valve stem. The belief that the tighter the pressure cap, the better is incorrect, as it will accelerate the wear of the valve stem and increase the operating torque. Do not replace or add fillers under pressure without protective measures.
Any abnormal phenomena discovered through listening, smelling, seeing, and touching during operation should be carefully analyzed by the operator. If they are self solved, they should be eliminated in a timely manner. If repairs are needed, the operator should not force themselves to make do, in order to avoid delaying the repair opportunity.
Operators should have specialized logs or record books to pay attention to recording the operation of various valves, especially important valves, high-temperature and high-pressure valves, and special valves, including valve transmission devices. They should record valve failures and their causes, handling methods, replacement parts, etc. These data are undoubtedly important for operators themselves, repair personnel, and manufacturers. Establishing specialized logs with clear responsibilities is beneficial for strengthening management.
