Pressure regulation steps
1. Close the gate valve before the pressure reducing valve and open the gate valve after the pressure reducing valve to create a downstream low-pressure environment;
2. Rotate the adjusting screw counterclockwise to the highest position (relative to the outlet pressure), and then close the pressure reducing valve and gate valve;
3. Slowly open the gate valve in front of the pressure reducing valve until fully open;
4. Slowly rotate the adjusting screw clockwise to adjust the outlet pressure to the desired pressure (based on the gauge pressure behind the valve); After adjustment, tighten the locking nut and open the pressure reducing valve and gate valve;
5. If the outlet pressure is higher than the set pressure during adjustment, it must be readjusted from the first step, that is, it can only be adjusted from low pressure to high pressure.
The main function of a pressure reducing valve is to:
The working principle of a pressure reducing valve is to reduce water pressure by relying on the local resistance of the flow channel inside the valve to the water flow. The range of water pressure drop is automatically adjusted by the inlet and outlet water pressure difference on both sides of the diaphragm or piston connected to the valve disc. The principle of fixed ratio pressure reduction is to use the water pressure ratio control of the floating piston in the valve body, and the pressure reduction ratio at the inlet and outlet ends is inversely proportional to the area ratio of the piston on the inlet and outlet sides. This pressure reducing valve works smoothly without vibration; There is no spring inside the valve body, so there is no concern of spring corrosion or metal fatigue failure; Good sealing performance without leakage, thus reducing both dynamic pressure (when water flows) and static pressure (when flow rate is 0); Especially when reducing pressure without affecting water flow.
Although there is a significant head loss when water flows through the pressure reducing valve, it is still energy-saving overall due to the reduction of water waste, the rational distribution of system flow, and the improvement of system layout and operating conditions. When the medium is steam, it is advisable to use a pilot piston pressure reducing valve or a pilot bellows pressure reducing valve. For the convenience of operation, adjustment, and maintenance, pressure reducing valves should generally be installed on horizontal pipelines.
