Two key valves for the localization of oil and gas pipelines have passed on-site acceptance

Recently, there has been new progress in the development of the major science and technology project "Localization of Key Equipment for Oil and Gas Pipelines". The domestically produced pressure balanced plug valve and axial flow check valve, jointly developed by China Petroleum&Natural Gas Corporation Western Pipeline Branch and high-tech valve enterprises in the industry, with a total of 16 valves in 4 specifications, have successfully passed industrial testing and on-site acceptance.

The Major Science and Technology Project "Localization of Key Equipment for Oil and Gas Pipelines" was established by China National Petroleum Corporation in 2013, mainly focusing on the research and development of 16 types of pipeline equipment in 5 categories, including oil pumps, key valves, actuators, and flow meters. Among them, domestically produced valves include 56 inch ball valves, key valves for pressure regulating devices, forced sealing ball valves, pressure balanced plug valves, axial check valves, regulating valves, and nitrogen pressure relief valves.

The pressure balanced plug valve that passed the acceptance this time was developed by Western Pipeline Company in conjunction with Sichuan Jingkong Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Fangzheng Valve Co., Ltd., and Raymond Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The product has optimized the sealing structure of the plug, reducing the opening torque; The surface of the plug adopts a proprietary treatment process, which improves its wear resistance, erosion resistance, and self-lubricating properties; Adopting a self-designed internal pressure balance relief valve with a plug to prevent particle impurities in the medium from entering the upper chamber of the valve body and overpressure.

Axial flow check valves are jointly developed by Western Pipeline Company, Zigong Xindipeer Valve Co., Ltd., Suzhou Neway Valve Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Kete Industrial Valve Co., Ltd. The product features a piston type composite sealing structure that enhances sealing and buffering capabilities; The valve stem liner adopts special processing technology, and the valve disc adopts anti rotation, anti detachment, and dual guiding support technology.

At present, two products have been industrially applied in the first and second lines of the West East Gas Pipeline, with a maximum operating time of over 15000 hours per device.

With the continuous breakthrough of the "domestication of key equipment for oil and gas pipelines" project, not only has the localization of key equipment been achieved, reducing the construction and operation costs of long-distance pipelines, but also creating favorable conditions for ensuring the safe and smooth operation of oil and gas pipelines.
