Self made device improves bearing repair rate

Recently, the maintenance station of Lubing Company in the Jibei Oil Production Management Area of Shengli Oilfield has developed a bearing constant temperature heating device using a waste water bath furnace, which greatly improves the bearing repair rate and is expected to save more than 200000 yuan in annual costs. It is understood that since the establishment of maintenance stations by integrating maintenance workers and welders from various oil production stations in Jibei Management Area, the level of cost reduction and efficiency improvement in the management area has been effectively enhanced by leveraging the innovative capabilities of specialized teams.

Located in Jiyang County, Jinan City, the Jibei Oil Production Management Zone currently has over 370 oil wells, of which more than 30 use screw pump pumping units. In the process of oil field development, mechanical failures often occur in the bearings of screw pumps, and most of the mechanical failures of pumping unit motors and auxiliary reducers are also concentrated in the bearings. In daily maintenance work, employees in the Jibei Oil Production Management Area encounter the same problem: due to the precision of the shaft that the bearing matches with, the accuracy must meet mechanical standards, and the fit is very tight. When installed at room temperature, it often cannot be docked with the shaft and base.

To solve the installation problem, maintenance stations have tried various methods: based on the principle of thermal expansion and contraction, they usually use an induction cooker heating method, pour engine oil into a large stainless steel basin, and then put the bearings into the basin to cook. But often due to uneven heating, the bearings are difficult to meet installation standards; The second method is to use a gas welding gun for baking, which requires a very high level of gas welding. A slight carelessness may cause uneven heating of the inner and outer rings, deformation of the bracket, and detachment of the ball. The screw pump bearings that fail to be repaired have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair, which not only takes a long time but also incurs repair costs of up to a thousand yuan.

Faced with the tight cost situation under low oil prices, finding ways to reduce maintenance costs has become the focus of attention for repair stations. Electrician Mao Guangming discovered during a maintenance of a water bath at a laboratory that the water bath is a set of constant temperature devices that can ensure continuous heating of the heating element after setting the temperature. It also has overheat protection, making it very safe. If it could be used to heat bearings, it would be very ideal. However, considering that the boiling point of water cannot meet the preheating requirements, Mao Guangming and others ultimately chose engine oil as the thermal conductivity medium, which can also provide good lubrication for bearings during heating.

For the convenience of bearing heating, Mao Guangming and others replaced the temperature controller of the water bath and welded two sets of separable brackets and handles for the heating device. While solving installation difficulties, it also makes operation simple, convenient, and highly secure.

Nowadays, this bearing constant temperature heating device has been successfully applied in production. The workload of three people in one hour can now be completed by two people in 30 minutes, which not only saves time and effort, but also effectively reduces the rate of bearing maintenance damage and maintenance costs.
