How to maintain and upkeep the process calibrator

The maintenance and upkeep of process calibrators need to be systematically promoted from five aspects: daily operation standards, regular maintenance plans, environmental management, replacement of vulnerable parts, and calibration records. Specific measures are as follows:

1、 Daily operation standards

  1. Check before useBefore each use, it is necessary to check the airtightness of the calibrator to ensure that there is no air leakage. The specific method is to use an M10 connector and a single tube to connect the hand cranked air supply connector to the water column meter connector. Use a hand cranked pump to pressurize to 1200Pa and then close the directional valve. Observe that the water column does not drop more than 30Pa within 1 minute to be considered qualified.
  2. Operation requirementsDuring the operation, it is necessary to keep hands and tools clean to avoid grease contamination of the calibration instrument. After use, wipe the surface with a dry cloth, fasten the buckle, and organize all the calibration tool joints before placing them in the tool bag.
  3. Oil free operationThe glass tubes of the calibration instrument (such as water column pressure gauges and flow meters) need to be cleaned regularly, but the use of grease based cleaning agents should be avoided during cleaning to prevent contamination of the medium.

2、 Regular maintenance plan

  1. routine maintenanceAfter daily use, the calibrator needs to be cleaned externally, and screws and loose parts should be checked for tightness to ensure normal operation. At the same time, it is necessary to check the storage environment of the instrument, maintain dryness and ventilation, and avoid the invasion of corrosive impurities.
  2. First level maintenance (monthly)Monthly internal cleaning of the calibration instrument is required to check for any abnormal phenomena (such as noise, humidity, etc.), and some instruments should be inspected and adjusted. For example, check whether the sealing gasket of the hand pump and the sealing ring of the reversing valve are airtight, and replace them in a timely manner if they are not airtight.
  3. Second level maintenance (annual)Every year, a comprehensive inspection of the calibration instrument is required, including disassembly or non disassembly inspection of main components, adjustment of accuracy, replacement of vulnerable parts, etc. For calibration instruments that have been in use for more than three years, precision checks, calibration, and calibration are also required to ensure that the instrument is in the best technical condition.

3、 Environmental management

  1. Storage environmentThe calibrator should be stored in a dry and ventilated room, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperature environments. There should be no impurities in the storage environment that can cause corrosion of the instrument, such as acidic or alkaline gases, salt spray, etc.
  2. Temperature and Humidity ControlFor calibration instruments with strict requirements for cleanliness and temperature and humidity, it is necessary to regularly check the temperature and humidity of the storage environment to ensure compliance with the instrument requirements. For example, using a constant temperature device to maintain temperature stability and avoid the impact of temperature fluctuations on instrument performance.
  3. Dustproof and shockproofThe calibrator should be placed on a cement workbench or shock-absorbing platform away from the seismic source to avoid the impact of vibration on the performance and detection results of the instrument. At the same time, it is necessary to regularly clean the dust and dirt on the surface of the instrument to keep it clean.

4、 Replacement of vulnerable parts

  1. Seal replacementThe sealing components of the calibration instrument (such as the sealing gasket of the hand pump, the sealing ring of the directional valve, etc.) need to be checked regularly. If any airtightness is found, it should be replaced in a timely manner to prevent air leakage from affecting the performance of the instrument.
  2. Cleaning of filter componentsThe filtering nickel mesh under the flow valve and the filtering nickel mesh at both ends of the spiral conduit need to be regularly disassembled, cleaned, and replaced to prevent blockage from affecting the accuracy of instrument flow measurement.
  3. Media replacementFor calibration instruments with medium solutions inside (such as hydraulic machinery), it is necessary to regularly check the discoloration or interface drop of the medium, replace the medium in a timely manner or add an appropriate amount to ensure the normal operation of the instrument.

5、 Calibration and Recording

  1. periodic calibrationThe calibrator needs to be calibrated regularly to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results. The calibration cycle can be determined based on the frequency of instrument use and accuracy requirements, and it is generally recommended to calibrate at least once a year.
  2. Calibration environmentThe calibration environment must meet the temperature, humidity, and other regulations required by the laboratory. If calibration is carried out on site, the environmental conditions shall be based on the conditions that can meet the on-site use of the instrument.
  3. Records ManagementA comprehensive instrument management file needs to be established, including original data, maintenance records, calibration certificates, etc. After each calibration, it is necessary to update the calibration records in a timely manner and dynamically grasp the changes in instrument performance.
