Simply relying on manual methods to detect fire pumps has been repeatedly proven to be unable to guarantee the reliable operation of fire pumps.
Fire water supply equipment is a basic component of a fixed fire water supply system. Although this part accounts for a relatively high proportion of the cost of the entire building's fire protection system (usually around 100%), lack of experience and lessons have proven that the success of initial fire suppression mainly depends on the integrity of this part of the equipment. The characteristics of fire water supply equipment are: regular use, long-term use, and once used, it must play a role. At present, the phenomenon of water pump rusting and death caused by long-term use of fire-fighting equipment is very common (up to 70% or even 80% in some areas). Simply relying on manual methods to detect fire pumps has been repeatedly proven to be unable to guarantee the reliable operation of fire pumps.
In response to this phenomenon, the * department has formulated the mandatory document "Performance Requirements and Experimental Methods for Fixed Fire Water Supply Equipment at Home" GA30.2, which clearly requires that fire equipment must have automatic inspection function. The document clearly stipulates that:
1. The equipment should have automatic and manual inspection functions, and its automatic inspection cycle should be able to be set as needed.
2. The fire pump is controlled to start and operate one by one, with each pump running for less than 2 minutes.
3. The equipment should be able to automatically exit the inspection and enter the fire protection operation state when encountering a fire signal during the inspection process.
4. During the inspection, if any faults are found, there should be sound and light alarms. Devices with fault memory function should record the type of fault and the time of occurrence of the fault, with less than 5 pieces of fault information, and their display should be clear and easy to understand.
