Industrial grade USB HUB hubs need to focus on stability, compatibility, protection, heat dissipation, and maintainability when operating in industrial environments for a long time. The following are specific precautions:
1、 Electrical performance and stability
Power supply stability
Independent power supply design: Priority should be given to hubs with independent power adapters (such as 12V/2A or higher) to avoid insufficient power supply caused by taking power from the host USB interface, especially when connecting multiple high-power devices (such as industrial cameras, 4G modules).
Overload protection: Check if the hub has overcurrent, overvoltage, and short-circuit protection functions to prevent damage to the host or hub itself due to device short circuits or power mutations.
Voltage fluctuation test: In industrial sites with large voltage fluctuations (such as motor start stop), it is necessary to test whether the hub can work stably and install a voltage regulator if necessary.
Signal Integrity
Long distance transmission: If you need to extend the USB cable (such as over 3 meters), you need to choose a hub with a signal amplification chip or use an active USB cable to avoid signal attenuation causing data loss or device recognition failure.
Anti interference capability: In industrial environments with electromagnetic interference (such as frequency converters and high-frequency equipment), USB cables with shielding layers (such as aluminum foil and braided mesh) should be selected, and the hub should be kept away from the interference source.
