Electrode requirements for fully automatic carbon paper and bipolar plate resistivity tester

1、 Electrode material selection

Metal based bipolar plate
It is recommended to use tungsten alloy or beryllium copper alloy electrodes because of their high hardness, wear resistance, and excellent conductivity, which can effectively reduce contact resistance and measurement errors

carbon-based/Polymer based bipolar plate
Gold or silver plated copper electrodes should be selected to avoid surface damage and ensure conductivity.

2、 Electrode shape design

High sensitivity measurementPriority should be given to conical or needle shaped electrodes, which can penetrate the surface oxide layer and reduce the contact area to improve accuracy.

Stable measurementFor flat samples, it is recommended to use flat or round head electrodes to ensure even pressure distribution.

3、 Pressure control parameters

pressure range‌:

Soft materials (such as polymer based):0.5-1.5N ‌;

Hard materials (such as metal based):1-3N‌。

precision requirementA pressure sensor with an accuracy of ± 0.5% and a resolution of 0.1N is required.

4、 Technical specifications

Resistance measurement range1 μ Ω -20k Ω, with a resolution of 1 μ Ω.

平行度要求The parallelism of the upper and lower pressure plates should be less than 0.025mm to ensure even contact.

Standard complianceMust meet the requirements of GB/T 20042.6-2011 and other standards for bipolar plate resistance testing.

5、 Maintenance and compatibility

The electrode should support quick replacement to reduce maintenance costs.

The recommended testing area is4cm ² (20 × 20mm), the diameter of the pressure plate is usually 80mm (customizable)

Note: Specific parameters need to be adjusted through pre experiments based on the characteristics of the sample, such as thickness and hardness
